For Sale: 1966 Mercury Monterey in Hillsborough, North Carolina for sale in Hillsborough, NC

Vehicle Description I bought this car from a machine shop operator in Indiana about 10 years ago.
He bought it from someone who had gotten it from the estate (I think) of the original owner in Wisconsin.
The previous owner to me had some body repairs done around the rear quarter panels and trunk lid as well as re-chroming the bumpers and painting the car.
I have put on a new dual exhaust system as the old single system was no longer available.
New tires with less than 1000 miles on them, all seals and gaskets in the engine have been replaced and the carb was rebuilt.
The engine is a 390 2 bbl as the 4 bbl was not an option in 66 and leaks nothing.
When the engine was pulled apart, my mechanic said it didn't need a rebuild.
I also installed front disk brakes as well so it stops with no issues compared to the old drum brakes.
The body is a 9/10.
A little of the 10-year-old resto shows through on the trunk lid and next to the bumper but wouldn't take much to make perfect.
The interior upholstery and door panels are a 10.
The headliner shows well but could be replaced to make it perfect.
The carpet is fine but a bit faded from age.
The trunk is clean and with no rust.
I have had a lot of cars over the years and have kept this one the longest as it is a great car that needs nothing and shows excellent.
It's not perfect but you'll be hard-pressed to find a nicer one.
I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere.
When I bought the car, it had 38,000 miles on it so I've put on about 4000 miles on it over the last 10 years.
