Health Physicist I X-Ray Inspector

The Health Physicist l X-Ray Inspector position works independently to conduct inspections and investigations and evaluate various types of X-Ray machines in various environments, to determine compliance with the North Carolina Regulations for Protection Against Radiation. Primary job duties include:
Prepares detailed and technical reports regarding inspection findings, track findings and reviews records submitted for compliance.
Serves as a member of the State Emergency Response Team as required to maintain Homeland Security.
Attends continuing education classes and training to maintain current knowledge of radiologic effects and agency needs.
Audits radiological hazards unsafe practices, incidents, and unusual occurrences and recommend methods for maintaining radiation dose As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
This position is home-based in Orange County or a surrounding county and requires daily travel within that assigned region. 24/7 availability is required in the event of a radiologic incident.

About the Division of Health Service Regulation and the Radiation Protection Section
The Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) provides for the health, safety and well-being of individuals through effective regulatory and remedial activities including appropriate consultation and training opportunities and by improving access to health care delivery systems through the rational allocation of needed facilities and services.
The Radiation Protection Section's mission is to reduce radiation exposure to the citizens and occupational workers of North Carolina, reduce radiation contamination to the environment and protect all from radiation hazards.To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:
Working knowledge of the biological effects, principles, and physics of radiation, practice standards and principles of radiation in medicine, Industry, education, and research.
Working knowledge of radiation detection, survey instrumentation function and operations.
Demonstrated knowledge in properly accessing and handling technically difficult and controversial areas.
Demonstrated knowledge of technical writing and reporting
Demonstrate the ability to plan and organize multiple projects with minimum direction, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Management Preferences
Experience working with regulatory agencies or compliance inspector.
Experience in emergency response activities related to radiologic hazards.
Currently qualified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, in Radiology, with advanced modality in Computed Tomography and/or Mammography.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work and drive for long or extended hours.

Bachelor's degree in nuclear science, physical, or environmental science; health/medical physics, or radiologic science from an appropriately accredited institution;
or
an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
